Home Services Consulting Experience 2004

2004

We were contracted by Shell Oil Company to design and conduct the second joint Mexico and United States oil spill emergency response full-scale exercise (MEXUS Gulf 2004). Since there were two nations involved with separate response systems, it was a unique and challenging experience. This exercise was completed in May of 2004 and was rated a success by all participants.

Other drills and exercises included:

  • BP Morgan City PREP Exercise
  • BP Seattle
  • Shell Puget Sound Refinery
  • Corporate Crisis Management Exercises (Shell)
  • Corporate Policies (Gulf South)
  • Emergency Response Plans and Integrated Contingency Plans
  • ICS and HAZWOPER Training (BP, Higman, CITGO, TOTAL)
  • SAR Plan (resulted from Helicopter response)
  • TVA Exercise/Training
  • 90 MMS drills
  • 10 unannounced MMS drills

Finally, we have responded to nearly 300 actual emergencies in 2004, including responses to all four hurricanes in Florida where we provided onsite logistics support in the Tallahassee Emergency Operations Center for approximately eight weeks. In addition, The O'BRIEN'S Group is the Spill Management Team for the motor tanker ATHOS I spill response that occurred on the Delaware River the day after Thanksgiving. We continue to oversee that response effort working along side the United States Coast Guard and the States of Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
